Gov’t plans to carry out a national programme on the upgrade of thermal plants coordinated by the Economy Ministry, with a view to preparing for the winter season, said PD-L vice-president Gheorghe Flutur after the weekly meeting of the political party.
‘The programme will be financed from the sale of rights for some 150 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, for which we might receive some 1.8 billion euros to use for the upgrade of thermal plants in the towns with centralized heating, ‘ said Flutur.
Flutur underscored the interest for the upgrade in the upcoming period of cogeneration plants, which, according to him, represent efficient cheaper and caloric energy,’ said the vice-president of the Democrat Liberal party (PD-L).
According to Flutur, also discussed were issues pertaining to infrastructure, public utilities, respectively technical equipment, methane gas networks from the view point of the relation with local public authorities.
‘The PD-L official said that at the meeting there have been also approached city planning issues and environmental issues, such as the closedown of waste dumps of the rural environment by the deadline of July 16, 2009.
‘The closedown of waste dumps of the rural environment is difficult because there are many city halls which have to carry the waste dozens or even hundreds of km where there are waste dumps left according to the legislation,’ he said.
